Insurance Agency Management Systems: Compare 18 AMS Platforms

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

An agency management system, or AMS, is where an agency keeps its clients, policies, carrier downloads, certificates and agency accounting. Most staff spend their day in it.

We compared 18 systems on price, how they run, carrier downloads, accounting, APIs and contract terms. Most give a price only after a demo, so ask each one for a written quote. The AMS finder also covers AgencyBloc AMS+, EZLynx, JenesisLink and MedicarePRO, which we review with lead management software.

Questions to ask before you buy

  • Which of my carriers send downloads?

Ask for the vendor's carrier list and check your top carriers for policy, commission and claims downloads. Most downloads come through IVANS, the network most carriers use to send them.

  • Will I still need QuickBooks?

Only some systems keep a full general ledger. Others handle invoices and commissions and send the rest to QuickBooks.

  • What does the move cost and how long does it take?

Ask for the conversion fee in writing and what data comes over. Timelines on these profiles run from about a month to three months, and accounting history often stays behind.

  • Does it work with my rater?

Check whether quotes come back into the AMS or only go out to the rater. A two-way bridge saves retyping.

  • Can I leave and take my data?

Read the renewal and notice terms before you sign. Ask how you get a full export and how long you have after the contract ends.

  • Browser or Windows?

Browser systems need no server. Windows systems run on your server or a hosted desktop, which adds backup and upkeep.

How is this list ordered?

We start from a default order built on trust factors, which are how many buyer facts the vendor publishes, whether its identity is verified, how openly it shows prices, how long it has been in business and an editorial review. Affiliate and paid links play no part, and a higher spot does not mean a better product. Read how we order vendors.

How we researched this. We based this page on each vendor's published pricing where available, terms and product pages, reviewed in October 2026, together with our team's experience working with insurance agents and agency owners since 2008.
