BenefitPoint review: pricing, downloads and accounting

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 4, 2026

BenefitPoint is Vertafore's system for employee benefits brokers. It holds employer accounts, plans, rates, renewals, carrier requests and commission revenue.

It fits brokerages whose benefits book has outgrown their P&C system, and it sends accounts and posted statements to AMS360 or Sagitta. Vertafore quotes it after a demo and hosts it.

Our take

BenefitPoint suits a benefits brokerage that wants plans, rates, renewals and commission revenue tracked by employer group, not by P&C policy. Reverse auctions let carriers bid on a group inside the system, and a renewal audit flags plans whose rates nobody updated.

It is not a full agency system. The books stay in AMS360, Sagitta or Applied TAM, so it fits best beside one of those, and the contract renews on its own with no early exit.

Pros

  • Plans, rates, contributions and splits on each group
  • Reverse auctions for carrier quotes
  • Renewal audit flags plans with stale rates
  • Commission revenue matched to plans
  • Two-way link with Employee Navigator
  • A business associate addendum, the HIPAA contract for health data

Cons

  • No published prices or free trial
  • No general ledger. Needs AMS360, Sagitta or Applied TAM for the books
  • Licenses can't be cut during a term
  • Reporting can be hard to use
  • Plansight and Employee Navigator need their own accounts

Corrections

Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan BenefitPoint quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where BenefitPoint has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
