Insurance Proposal Software: Compare 10 Proposal Tools

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

Proposal software turns carrier quotes, policies or illustrations into something a client can read and act on. P&C tools pull limits and premiums out of carrier PDFs and line them up side by side. Life and annuity tools turn illustrations into presentations, and benefits tools build renewal books.

We compared 10 tools on price, the lines they handle, how they read documents and what the client receives.

Vendors sit in our default order, which comes from trust factors and not from any fee. Prices as of October 2026.

Agency systems such as Applied Epic and EZLynx are marked in blue. Advocate and WealthLogix charge per user, Planlined covers a team of up to 5 and Polly a team of up to 10. AG Simulator and Annuity Alpha are memberships, and Annuity Alpha adds a setup fee on monthly billing.

Planlined's system links come with its Enterprise plan. FIA is a fixed indexed annuity, IUL is indexed universal life and MYGA is a multi-year guaranteed annuity. LTC is long-term care, and SOC 2 is an outside security audit.

A dec page is the declarations page that sums up a policy. A renewal book shows an employer its benefit options for the next plan year, and contribution tiers split each plan's cost between employer and employee. See what agencies pay in the cost guide.

Questions to ask before you buy

  • How do I check what it pulled from the PDF?

The safest tools link each value to the page it came from. Without that, compare the proposal with the carrier documents line by line before it goes out.

  • Who carries the E&O risk?

You do. Every vendor here says the agent reviews the proposal and makes the coverage call, so build that review into your process.

  • Can it carry our required wording?

Ask whether you can lock a disclaimer, licensing line or compensation notice into every proposal, and whether producers can delete it.

  • Who owns our template and data?

Some vendors license a custom template only while you subscribe. Ask how to export proposals and client data, and how long they keep it after you cancel.

  • Does it connect to our agency system?

Most tools here stand alone. Ask whether documents come in from your AMS and whether the finished proposal goes back to the client record.

  • What else do I have to buy?

Some life tools come only inside a training membership, and AG Simulator's Proposal Kit needs your own paid Claude account. Add those to the price.

How is this list ordered?

We start from a default order built on trust factors, which are how many buyer facts the vendor publishes, whether its identity is verified, how openly it shows prices, how long it has been in business and an editorial review. Affiliate and paid links play no part, and a higher spot does not mean a better product. Read how we order vendors.

How we researched this. We based this page on each vendor's published pricing where available, terms and product pages, reviewed in October 2026, together with our team's experience working with insurance agents and agency owners since 2008.
