About InsuranceAgencyTools

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 7, 2026

InsuranceAgencyTools is a buying guide for insurance agents and agency owners. It covers the lead vendors, software and services agencies pay for, with a profile for each vendor, side-by-side comparisons and calculators that turn published prices into what a sale will actually cost you.

The site grew out of Insurance Leads Guide (opens in a new tab), which has helped agents buy and work insurance leads since 2009. Over those years the questions agents asked us changed. They still wanted to know which lead companies were worth testing, but they also wanted to know which CRM would take those leads in, which dialer would keep them compliant and what all of it would cost in the first year. Answering those questions well needed a site built around comparisons.

There was a second reason. Comparison pages for agency software and lead vendors had become crowded with sites that look polished but get the facts wrong: prices a vendor dropped years ago, integrations that never existed and ratings nobody can trace. Agents make real spending decisions from those pages. We wanted a resource that gets the details right and shows when they were last checked.

How the site works

Every vendor has one profile, no matter how many categories it sells in. Each profile is built from a structured record of the vendor’s published pricing, terms and product pages, and every price carries the month we confirmed it. Some of what we know comes from first-hand experience working with the product or service ourselves or alongside the agencies that use it. When something a vendor publishes leaves a gap, we often contact the vendor directly to fill it. When a vendor changes its prices or plans, the record changes first and every page that uses those facts updates with it. Category pages, comparisons, cost guides and best-for lists all draw from the same records, so a number never says one thing on one page and something else on another.

We don’t score vendors or publish star ratings. What fits a two-person captive agency rarely fits a fifty-seat call center, so we lay out what each vendor sells, what it costs, its terms and who it suits, and leave the choice to you. Our editorial policy explains how we research and update pages.

Who is behind it

Bryan Gray, editor

I have worked in insurance marketing since 2008, when I started helping friends and family with their agencies’ websites and SEO, and that turned into years of work with captive and independent agencies and producers on lead flow, lead sourcing and conversion. Out of the original Insurance Leads Guide group I’m the only one who was never a licensed producer. Most of what I know came from a front row seat watching agencies of every size win and lose with the tools and vendors on this site.

I have run Insurance Leads Guide on my own since 2016. InsuranceAgencyTools is published by a small editorial team that I lead.
