AgencyZoom review for insurance agencies: pricing, lead routing and integrations

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

AgencyZoom is Vertafore's sales CRM for P&C agencies. It takes in leads from your lead vendors and website, hands each one to a producer and keeps follow-up going with emails, texts and tasks until the lead is sold or closed.

Plans are priced per agency with up to seven users, in versions for independent, Farmers and Allstate agencies. There's a 14-day free trial, and it syncs both ways with AMS360, QQCatalyst and NowCerts.

Our take

Pick AgencyZoom if you run a P&C agency, independent or captive, that buys internet leads and wants every one worked. Vendor leads post straight in and get a producer and a service rep. Pipelines then send the emails and texts for you.

Growth is where most agencies land, because Essential has no texting or renewal automation. Pro adds click-to-call and a service desk, which matters once your CSRs live in it.

The limit to know is seven users. A bigger team needs a quote.

Pros

  • Each lead source gets its own post URL and email address
  • Timers (shot clocks) hand off leads nobody has worked
  • Two-way sync with AMS360, QQCatalyst and NowCerts
  • Separate plans and prices for Farmers and Allstate agencies
  • Reports tie sales and lost leads back to each lead source
  • Published prices and a 14-day free trial

Cons

  • No texting on Essential, and click-to-call needs Pro
  • More than seven users needs a quote
  • HawkSoft data flows in only, and EZLynx books come in by file
  • Duplicate leads are merged by hand
  • Phone service and texting are billed by a separate provider

Good to know before you buy

  • Every plan covers up to seven users. More users need a quote.
  • Every plan comes with chat support and a one-on-one setup session.
  • Your AMS, phone service and Zapier accounts are billed by those companies.
  • Payments aren't refunded, including a yearly plan you stop using.

Calls and texts

AgencyZoom doesn't sell minutes or texts. They run through the phone provider you connect, such as RingCentral, Twilio or Ooma, and that provider bills you for them.

Farmers plans follow the same three tiers and add Farmers Folio reports. Allstate plans are packaged separately, as shown above.

Getting started

  1. Start the 14-day trial

Pick the independent, Farmers or Allstate version. You aren't charged until the trial ends.

  2. Connect your AMS

AMS360, QQCatalyst and NowCerts sync both ways. The first AMS360 sync takes at least a day, and QQCatalyst usually takes one to two.

  3. Add your lead sources

Each source gets its own post URL and email address. Start with the vendor that sends you the most leads.

  4. Decide who gets each lead

Set round robin, a named producer or an assignment group for each source, then turn on shot clocks.

  5. Train the team

AgencyZoom puts training and onboarding at two to four weeks.

Support is by chat and the help center. Book imports bring over clients, contacts, policies, dates, notes, tags and custom fields.

Lead intake

AgencyZoom web-lead setup listing lead sources by name, with webhook options for Benepath, Datalot and ILB Leads
The web-lead setup lists lead sources by name, and many have a webhook option for real-time delivery.

Each lead source gets a post URL (a webhook) for instant delivery and an email address that AgencyZoom reads and turns into a lead.

Assignment rules

Round robin

New leads from a source take turns across everyone with a producer or service role.

One named person

Every lead from the source goes to the producer or service rep you pick.

Assignment group

Leads take turns within a smaller group of users you set up.

On every lead
A producer, a service rep and an office location
If nobody works it
A neglected-lead shot clock hands it to someone else
If it sits too long
An aged-lead shot clock moves it to another stage or pipeline, marks it Dead or parks it in SmartCycle
SmartCycle
Brings a parked lead back to the active pipeline later, with its owner and history

Follow-up and calling

Each pipeline stage can send emails and texts and create tasks on a schedule. A sequence stops on its own when the lead replies.

Texting
Growth and Pro, through Twilio, RingCentral, Bridge, Lightspeed Voice, NerdPhone, Vonix or Ooma
Calling
Click-to-call on Pro, through the same phone providers
Booking links
Growth and Pro, for each producer or team
Opt-outs
A STOP reply or an email unsubscribe blocks that channel for the lead
Texting registration
US phone carriers require business texting numbers to be registered (10DLC, the US registry for business texting numbers). Your phone provider handles it, not AgencyZoom
When follow-up stops
Marking a lead Sold closes its open tasks. Marking it Dead cancels them

Client and policy records

A sold lead becomes a customer with its contacts, policies and service requests. Commercial accounts can hold several contacts.

Policy details
Carrier, type, number, premium, effective and expiration dates, producer and service rep
With an AMS
Your AMS stays the source of truth for the policies it syncs
Without an AMS
AgencyZoom holds the policies itself

Renewals, retention and cross-sell

New clients and renewals

Onboarding automations start a set number of days after the effective date. Retain automations start before each renewal and repeat every term, filtered by carrier, policy type and tags.

Win-backs

A renewal or service ticket closed as canceled can become a win-back. It comes back a set number of days before the x-date.

Cross-sell

Imported books can be filtered for cross-sell. Several policies sold within 14 days count as one sale by default.

Turning 65

A daily scan of your book can create a lead before a client turns 65.

Commissions

AgencyZoom works out producer pay from base pay, tiers, life and health commission, bonuses and disqualifiers. It handles producer splits, and managers can email pay statements. Allstate agencies can import DASH and iVantage production and commission reports.

Corrections

Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan AgencyZoom quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where AgencyZoom has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
