RingCentral review for insurance agents: pricing, dialing and compliance
RingCentral sells RingEX, a business phone system, and RingCX, a contact center that adds outbound campaigns. An agency can run desk phones, texting and queues on RingEX and add RingCX seats for the people who dial lists.
Most agencies start on RingEX Advanced for the CRM links and automatic recording.
- Best for
- Agencies replacing their phone system, and call teams that need predictive outbound campaigns
- Type
- Business phone system (RingEX) with a contact center add-on (RingCX)
- Price
- Per user, prices on its site
- Dialing
- Preview, progressive, power and predictive on RingCX
- Texting
- 25 to 200 texts a user a month on RingEX, then paid per text
- Recording

Our take
RingCentral covers the whole range, from a five-person office to a call floor. RingEX handles the phones. RingCX adds predictive dialing, abandon-rate pacing and Do Not Call scrubbing through your own subscription.
Both are billed per user, so a dialing seat costs a RingEX seat plus a RingCX seat.
The main catch is recording. RingEX keeps recordings for up to 90 days, so a Medicare agency needs an archive in place from day one.
Pros
- Predictive dialing with abandon-rate controls
- Runs the Do Not Call scrub with your own subscription
- AMS360 connection through a partner
- Bring your own carrier on RingEX
- RingCX has no seat minimum
Cons
- Dialing seats need both RingEX and RingCX
- RingEX recordings last 90 days
- Core includes only 25 texts a user
- A cost recovery fee is added to the bill
- Texting campaigns carry a three-month minimum

Dialing modes
| Mode | What it does | Lines per agent | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Click-to-call | Dial from the app or a connected CRM | 1 | RingEX |
| Preview | Shows the lead before the agent dials | 1 | RingCX |

| Voice Broadcast | Plays a recorded message with no agent. Marketing calls like this need prior written consent | No agent | RingCX |
| ManualDial (safe mode) | Every call starts with a person clicking | 1 | ManualDial account |
- Dropped calls
- A target abandon rate slows pacing. RingCentral suggests 3% or lower
- Abandon message
- Plays a recorded message within two seconds, sends the caller to a queue or adds the lead to your do-not-call list
- Team size
- Predictive dialing works best with about 14 or more agents
- Voicemail drop
- An agent drops a recorded message on a live outbound call through App Connect
Inbound calls and transfers
RingEX gives every agency menus and call queues. RingCX adds contact center routing and can carry the lead source, campaign and custom fields from a lead vendor's transfer.
- Routing
- Skill, language, rank, availability, schedule, time zone, caller number or dialed number
- Queues
- Callback, wrap-up and service-level settings on RingCX

Texting and registration

- Pictures
- Yes on local numbers. Toll-free numbers can't send pictures

- Approval time
- Up to four weeks, with up to 49 numbers per request
- Fees
- Passed through with no markup, with a three-month campaign minimum

- Pause
- Yes
- How long it's kept
- RingEX call logs hold recordings up to 90 days, with 100,000 per account
- Export
- API and archive to SFTP or cloud storage. RingCX recordings download as WAV files
- After you cancel
- The account closes on the last billing day and is deleted within 30 days
From the 2027 plan year, CMS wants six years of Medicare sales calls. The 90-day log won't cover that, so set up an archive from the start.

Frequently asked questions
How much does RingCentral cost?
RingEX and RingCX are billed per user each month, and a dialing seat needs both. Add-ons start at $25 a month for Business SMS Booster.
Does RingCentral have a predictive dialer?
Yes, in RingCX. The admin sets calls per free agent, and a target abandon rate slows dialing.
Does RingCentral scrub the Do Not Call list?
RingCX scrubs national and state lists once you load your own DNC.com subscription. It also scrubs wireless numbers.
Can RingCentral keep Medicare call recordings long enough?
Not on its own. RingEX logs keep recordings 90 days, so archive them to cloud storage or SFTP.
Does RingCentral connect to AMS360?
Yes, through EcoLink by Inteveo on RingEX Advanced or Ultra.
How long does RingCentral texting registration take?
Up to four weeks. Fees pass through at cost.

Corrections
Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan RingCentral quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where RingCentral has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
