Certificial review: pricing, certificates and AMS connections
Certificial is a certificate of insurance platform where agencies issue certificates, insureds share agent-approved coverage and certificate holders track their suppliers. When you change a policy in a connected AMS, Certificial reissues the certificate to every holder who got it through Certificial.
The agency account costs $0. Holders track up to 5 suppliers at no charge and pay for more. HawkSoft and Momentum agencies sync clients and policies in, and Applied Epic agencies get holder requests as Epic activity notes.

Our take
Certificial fits commercial agencies that answer a steady stream of holder requests and want certificates to stay current after a policy changes. The main work is connecting HawkSoft, Momentum or Applied Epic and loading each client's holders.
The limit to know first is the contract. The license lets Certificial end access at any time, so keep your own copy of holder lists and certificates.

Good to know before you buy
- Holders are the paying customers once they track more than 5 suppliers.
- Agencies can also track suppliers for their clients through the Agent Assist program or resell it.
- Holders who use a partner platform may see Certificial under that partner's name.
Getting started
Register the agency
Create a free Agent & Broker account, or book a demo first.
Connect your AMS
HawkSoft agencies share data from the HawkSoft Marketplace and Momentum agencies turn it on under Data Imports and Export. Applied Epic needs a form and an activity code, and Applied turns it on within 72 hours.
Load holders
Momentum brings holders in with the sync. Other agencies upload a holder list from a spreadsheet.
Issue and share
Send Smart COIs to holders and turn on self-service for the clients you choose.
HawkSoft data syncs in about an hour. Momentum data arrives overnight or over several days, depending on agency size. Support runs by chat, phone and email from 9am to 6pm Eastern on weekdays.
Issuing certificates
- Who issues
- Agency staff, and insureds the agent allows
- Policy data
- Synced from the AMS, typed in by hand or read from an uploaded certificate
- Bulk
- Upload a holder list and send a Smart COI to every holder on it
- Delivery
- Updates, cancellations and reinstatement notices go out in one click, and certificates reissue on policy changes and renewals
Momentum agencies can turn on Auto-Response to answer many holder requests at once. Requests are matched to the right insured in Epic for Applied agencies.
ACORD forms and policy data
| Form | What it is |
|---|---|
| ACORD 25 | Certificate of liability insurance |
| ACORD 24 | Certificate of property insurance |
| ACORD 27 | Evidence of property insurance |
| ACORD 28 | Evidence of commercial property insurance |
| ACORD 101 | Additional remarks schedule |
Certificial is a licensed ACORD forms redistributor in the US and a licensed redistributor of CSIO forms, Canada's version of ACORD. Policy data comes from Applied Epic, HawkSoft or Momentum, from manual entry or from an uploaded certificate the agent claims.
Self-service for insureds and holders
- Who uses it
- Insureds the agent turns it on for
- What they can change
- The certificate holder. Policies, endorsements and wording are locked to what the agent approves
- What goes to your staff
- Any change to the shared policy details goes to the agent for approval
- Their own policies
- Insureds can add policies, but can't share them until the agent verifies them
Contract requirements and endorsements
- What it checks
- Coverage types, limits, coverage symbols and endorsements against the holder's template
- Held for review
- Description of operations and carrier ratings go to a review list for the holder to accept or deny
- Endorsements
- The EndorsementIQ add-on reads endorsement documents and pulls out carrier, form number, policy numbers and exclusions
- Who decides
- The holder grants exceptions for a set time. The agent is responsible for matching endorsements to the real policy wording
Tracking vendor certificates
- Who it's for
- Certificate holders tracking their suppliers, and agencies doing it for clients
- How certificates come in
- The holder sends a request. The supplier names up to five of its agents, and each one answers for the policies it writes
- From agencies outside the network
- Certificates are read from the PDF, but not watched for changes until that agency joins
- Follow-up
- The supplier and its agent get periodic emails with the reason and the fix. Every exception is logged
Holders can request coverage from a whole supplier list at once. An insured account can also switch into requestor mode to track its own suppliers.
Renewals and policy changes
Policy changes in a connected AMS reach Certificial on their own. Holders hear about cancellations, limit changes, new dates and carrier ratings, and certificates reissue at renewal.
Agents can see which holders a coverage change touches.

Corrections
Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan Certificial quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where Certificial has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
