Input 1 review for insurance agencies: fees, deposits and agency system connections

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

Input 1 Digital Payments lets clients pay premium by card or ACH from a prefilled link or a portal branded to your agency. Payments can be deposited in batches, and HawkSoft agencies get a daily payment report.

It fits HawkSoft and Momentum agencies, and members of the Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA), that also want premium finance. The only published charge is $20 a month, and only when monthly payments total less than $1,000.

Our take

Input 1 is a billing and premium finance company that also takes payments. For an agency, that means card and ACH collection plus loans from gotoPremiumFinance, an Input 1 company.

It fits best when you already run HawkSoft or Momentum, since the connection is built in, or belong to SIAA Xchange. Much of the rest of Input 1 is built for carriers, MGAs and banks.

Input 1 publishes less than the others here. Get the card and ACH rate, who pays it and the refund and chargeback rules before you sign.

Pros

  • No setup fee, and no monthly fee once payments reach $1,000 a month
  • Payments and premium finance from one company
  • Built-in connections to HawkSoft and Momentum
  • Recurring card and ACH payments from HawkSoft data
  • SIAA Xchange members can move eligible excess and surplus (E&S) business to direct bill, where Input 1 bills the client and sends the agency its commission

Cons

  • A monthly fee when payments total less than $1,000 a month
  • Card and ACH rates aren't published
  • Refund, chargeback and deposit timing rules aren't published
  • No mailed checks, except for carriers and MGAs running their own finance program on Input 1

Good to know before you buy

  • The monthly fee depends on the dollars you collect, not on how many payments you take.
  • Input 1 was named a preferred payments vendor for SIAA member agencies in 2021.
  • Managed Billing, its largest product, is built for carriers, MGAs and banks rather than agencies.

Deposits, refunds and chargebacks

Get these rules in writing. Input 1 publishes no deposit timing and no rules for refunds, chargebacks or returned ACH payments. Ask sales who pays each one and how fast deposits land before you sign.

Corrections

Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan Input 1 quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where Input 1 has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
