Our take
Ritter's Agency team works with agencies that have downlines. Ask which of your carriers will be direct contracts and which assign commissions to Ritter, since that decides who keeps renewals. Budget for AHIP yourself, because Ritter does not offer an AHIP discount.

Get appointed
Licensing representatives send your contracts to the carriers. Ritter says it takes two to three weeks, depending on the product.
- Contract with
- Ritter Insurance Marketing LLC, directly or through an agency
- Organization model
- Open contracting, with an Agency team for downlines
Agents register for free with their NPN, and registration does not bind them. Agents can contract direct to Ritter, and agencies with downline agents work with a dedicated Agency team.
Ritter holds the top contract, which it calls Top of Hierarchy, with all major Medicare Advantage and Part D carriers, so a direct agent's chain is usually you, then Ritter, then the carrier. The services agreement names Ritter Insurance Marketing LLC.
Ritter pays a $50 gift card when a referred agent registers and another $50 after that agent contracts with a partnered carrier, if the new agent is direct to Ritter at street level.
Ritter's licensing representatives help complete contracts and get agents appointed. Ritter does not describe a captive-carrier transition program.
How you get paid
- Street level
- Ritter pays the full street-level rate
- Level bumps
- Above street, depending on your production and contract level
- Bonuses and trips
- Carrier co-ops, $50 a household on ACA referrals in eight states and $50 agent referral gift cards
Ritter pays the entire street-level rate, and agents can earn higher depending on production and contract level, with eligibility varying by product type and carrier. It does not define street against a carrier schedule.
Registered agents can access carrier pages with commission information.
Ritter does not hold agent commissions, and its carrier override does not come out of your commission. Whether the carrier pays you directly or you are paid through an assignment of commissions varies by carrier.
Ritter runs co-ops with its Top of Hierarchy carriers and an ACA referral program that pays $50 per household in eight states.
Leaving
- Release policy
- Generally open. Under six months contracted, you wait six months from your appointment date
- Renewal vesting
- Direct contracts keep renewals with you. Ritter's own contract vests immediately
- Debt when you leave
- Pay debit balances before the release
Ritter says you can keep writing business while you wait out a release.
Ritter postpones releases from September 1 through December 31 during the annual enrollment period (AEP) blackout. Release terms also depend on each carrier and contract.
A direct carrier contract means you own the business and keep renewals if you leave, while an assignment-of-commissions contract can leave renewals with the upline.
Its public pages do not explain how unpaid advances, chargebacks, interest or collection are handled after exit. Your right to use Ritter Services ends when the software agreement ends, and export rights and non-compete terms are not published.
Advances, chargebacks and debt
- Debt policy
- Debit balances must be paid before Ritter releases you
Ritter requires debit balances to be satisfied before it releases an agent.
Lines and carriers
Ritter offers Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, ACA, dental, life, final expense and annuity products, plus hospital indemnity, critical illness and long-term care. Ritter says it offers contracting with more than 120 carrier partners and direct contracts with 59 Medicare Advantage carriers. The carrier list by line is shared with registered agents.

Ritter agents use IntegrityCONNECT for CRM and quoting, PlanEnroll for consumer enrollment and the Ritter Platform for online contracting and commission tracking. Ritter says named tools carry no direct fee and it does not list a recurring monthly back-office or membership fee. Leads use a buy-per-lead model.
Ritter says contracted agents receive Integrity's discounted rate and recurring Marketplace orders save 15 percent. Leads come from the IntegrityCONNECT marketplace, live call and data campaigns and custom direct mail for Medicare Supplement, ACA, life and final expense. Medicare Advantage leads are not offered there anymore, and dollar prices are not published.
Training and production
- Support
- Dedicated sales, licensing, compliance and agency teams
Ritter runs New Agent Orientation webinars, The Ritter Report webinars, Knight School, events and a Certification Center, with dedicated sales, licensing, compliance and agency support. Monthly webinars have no fee, and registration has no direct fee.
Contracting, certifications and E&O
- How to contract
- Free registration, then Contract Now after a call with Sales
- Group E&O
- Up to 50% off through Integrity
After registering, new agents speak with a Ritter Sales specialist to unlock Contract Now, which prefills and batches carrier paperwork. Licensing representatives send contracts to carriers, and Ritter says contracting can take two to three weeks depending on product type. Medicare Advantage agents need annual AHIP or NABIP certification plus carrier certification.
Ritter does not offer an AHIP discount and gives CE vouchers for webinar and event attendance. Appointment fees vary by carrier and state. Ritter says Medicare Advantage and Part D carriers usually cover resident state fees but have the agent pay in non-resident states.
Fees can range from no fee to more than $100 per appointment. Integrity offers E&O to agents using free IntegrityCONNECT, with savings up to 50 percent off the standard industry price.

Do I keep my renewals if I leave Ritter?
Direct carrier contracts keep renewals with you. An assignment-of-commissions contract can leave renewals with the upline, so ask which applies for each carrier.

Corrections
Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan Ritter Insurance Marketing quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where Ritter Insurance Marketing has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
