Advocate review: pricing, features and client output

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

Advocate reads commercial policies, checks them for coverage gaps and builds client proposals from that data. Higher plans add market price benchmarks so you can spot renewals that cost too much.

It is sold direct with a free plan for policy reviews. Proposals start on Starter at $49 a user a month billed yearly.

Our take

Advocate suits commercial property teams that want proposals and renewal pricing in one record. The tools for blankets and towers (layers of excess limits) go deeper than most proposal software.

The price climbs fast. Benchmarks start on Professional at $375 a user a month, and that plan needs a yearly commitment.

Use the free trial on a real renewal. It runs on Premium, so you see every feature before you pick a plan.

Pros

  • Free plan for unlimited policy reviews
  • Extracted fields cite their source document
  • Blanket and layered program analysis

Cons

  • Benchmarks start at $375 a user a month
  • Professional and Premium need a yearly commitment
  • No AMS or CRM connection
  • Commercial property only
  • The price detail report can't be exported

Corrections

Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan Advocate quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where Advocate has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
