Data Axle review for insurance agents: data, pricing and permitted use
Data Axle compiles consumer and business data and sells it to agents through two products. Salesgenie is a monthly search tool and Exact Data sells ready-made lists by the record.
Both sell an x-date as an add-on field, and neither says how it is built. Prices sit with each product, and Data Axle's own enterprise data is sold by quote.

Our take
Most agents won't buy from Data Axle directly. Pick Salesgenie if you want to search and export every month, or Exact Data if you want one homeowner mailing list.
The x-dates in both products come with no method, so treat them as a guide. Consumer phone numbers in Salesgenie need your own Do Not Call registry account.
Pros
- Large consumer and business files in one company
- A subscription or a one-time list, your choice
- Sends records to Salesforce and HubSpot
- Trigger lists for new movers, homeowners and businesses
Cons
- No published method behind the x-dates
- Do Not Call screening is your job
- No public API for agents
- Terms and prices are split across two products
Data sources and dates

| Source | What it gives you | How often it updates |
|---|---|---|
| Directories, business filings and company websites | Company names, industry, size and executives | Daily to monthly, by source |
| Deed and property records | New homeowners and confirmed homeowner status | New homeowners weekly |
| Tax, voter and utility records | Consumer names, addresses and household details | Monthly |
| Online behavior partners | Business buying-intent topics | No schedule given |
- Renewal date
- Homeowner x-date in Salesgenie. Home expiration date and auto renewal month in Exact Data
- How it's built
- Neither product explains it
Test the date first. Data Axle gives no source for its x-dates, so they could come from filed policies, purchase dates or a model. Check a small batch against your own book.

Phone, email and Do Not Call
- Phone numbers
- On many lists
- Do Not Call check
- Not promised. The terms say records can include Do Not Call numbers
- Your part
- Salesgenie shows consumer phone numbers only after you give your own FTC registry account number or sign a waiver
- Available. Often costs extra credits in Salesgenie
A phone or email field on a record does not give you consent to call, text or email.
Permitted use
- How you may use it
- Your own business, under a limited license
- How long
- During your subscription or order term
- Who can use it
- Your business. Sharing needs written approval
- Resale
- Not allowed. A rented list shared with others costs ten times the rental rate
- Credit and underwriting use
- Not allowed. No personal insurance underwriting, credit, jobs or tenant screening
- Rented mailing lists
- One mailing. Delete the names within 15 days of the mailing date

Corrections
Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan Data Axle quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where Data Axle has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
