Our take

The yearly membership is the reason to look. For $45 you can take every self-study course you need for a year, in any state. Members still pay the state reporting fee, and a second credit type on a course can cost more.

It is CE only, with no pre-licensing and no live classes in the membership. That matters in Illinois and Texas, where some hours must be live or classroom-equivalent, meaning online courses the state counts like a classroom.

Reporting is quick, often the same day before 3 p.m. Central.

Pros

  • Unlimited self-study CE for a year at one price
  • Credits often reported the same day
  • Unlimited exam retakes
  • One membership covers licenses in several states
  • CFP Board CE on the same account

Cons

  • No live classes or webinars in the membership
  • State reporting fees still apply to members
  • No pre-licensing
  • No refund once you open an exam

Corrections

Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan InsuranceStudy quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where InsuranceStudy has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
