CANNEX review for insurance agents: pricing, carriers and features

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

CANNEX compares income, fixed, MYGA, fixed indexed and variable annuities across carriers, using each carrier's own pricing data. Advisors see quotes, illustrations and fee comparisons.

It's sold to firms, not to single agents. Most advisors reach it through a broker-dealer, RIA, marketing organization or carrier, and smaller firms can book a demo of the Annuity Marketplace.

Our take

CANNEX is an annuity data source that firms build into their own tools. It suits a broker-dealer, RIA or IMO that wants advisors comparing annuities from one source the carriers maintain.

A single agent can't sign up. You get it through a firm, so the firm decides what you see and whether you keep it.

It covers annuities only, with no life quoting and no eApp of its own.

Pros

  • Covers income, fixed, indexed and variable annuities in one place
  • Carriers supply and maintain their own pricing formulas
  • Fee, income and death benefit comparisons for variable products
  • Current and past income annuity quotes
  • CANNEX takes no pay from selling financial products

Cons

  • No prices published and no plan for a single agent
  • Access depends on a firm, an upline or a carrier
  • No eApp or e-signature of its own
  • No website quoter for consumers

Frequently asked questions

How much does CANNEX cost?

CANNEX quotes a price to each firm. The firm that licenses it pays, so ask your firm whether it passes a cost to you.

Can an independent agent buy CANNEX?

Not directly. You get access through a firm that licenses it, and smaller firms can ask for a demo of the Annuity Marketplace.

Which annuity carriers does CANNEX cover?

More than 60 annuity providers, by CANNEX's count in May 2024. Carriers choose which firms see each product, so check with your firm.

How current are CANNEX annuity rates?

Carriers maintain their own pricing in CANNEX, and deferred annuity rates update as the carriers change them.

Can I submit an annuity application through CANNEX?

Not in CANNEX itself. Your firm's application or order-entry system takes over after you pick a product.

How we researched this review. We based this review on the terms and product pages published by CANNEX, reviewed in October 2026, together with our team's experience working with insurance agents and agency owners since 2008.

Corrections

Vendors change their pricing all the time and they don't email us when they do. So if you see a price on here that's gone up, a plan CANNEX quit selling or a contract term that reads different now, let us know and send the link to the page where CANNEX has it. Somebody here pulls up that page and checks it before we change anything on ours.
