How Much Does an Insurance Agency Valuation Cost?

By the IAT editorial team | Updated October 9, 2026

Three of the 14 valuation firms here put prices in dollars on their sites. Eight price by quote only and three do not publish prices. Agency Brokerage Consultants charges $7,500 for its Second Opinion offer review.

Agency Consulting Group sells Agency Valuer software at $750 with a year of updates, then $100 a year. IA Valuations lists $2,500 for an Ohio agency, $3,500 elsewhere and $1,500 for a renewal. Every price is dated October 2026.

Pricing models

Valuation fees depend on the job. IA Valuations, the one firm here that lists valuation prices, charges more outside Ohio and less for a renewal.

Among the firms here that say how they charge for a sale, the fee comes due when the deal closes. Reagan Consulting adds hourly fees and retainers and says its success fee is fixed or a share of the deal value.

Of the eleven firms without prices, Sica | Fletcher and Dowling Hales say nothing about fees. No firm here publishes a sale fee rate, though Reagan Consulting and Legacy Advisors describe how theirs is set.

Published prices by vendor

The default order goes by trust factors. It is not our pick of the best.

Published fees and pricing terms

Only firms that describe a fee in writing are listed. A blank cell means the firm hasn't published that fee.

Vendors appear in our default order, which follows trust factors and says nothing about quality.

Why rates differ

Agency Consulting Group lists several prices because it sells two products, Agency Valuer software and a Liquidity Analysis Audit. The audit is $100 a month for its own clients, paid once a year, and $150 a month for other agencies.

Fee terms in plain words

  • Success fee. The advisor's fee when the sale closes, often a share of the price.
  • Retainer. A fee paid up front or monthly while the advisor works, whether or not a deal closes.
  • Tail. A set period after the agreement ends when you still owe the fee if you sell to a buyer the advisor introduced.
  • Valuation fee. The price of the valuation report itself, separate from any sale fee.

Vendors that quote or do not publish prices

Quote only. MarshBerry, B. H. Burke & Co., Mercer Capital, INS Capital Group, M&A Services, OPTIS Partners, Springtree Group and Legacy Advisors price by quote. Springtree Group offers a free valuation quote and Legacy Advisors a free first valuation.

No prices or quote statement. Reagan Consulting, Sica | Fletcher and Dowling Hales do not publish prices. Reagan Consulting describes its fee types, and the other two say nothing about fees.

How we researched this. We based this page on each vendor's published pricing where available, terms and product pages, reviewed in October 2026, together with our team's experience working with insurance agents and agency owners since 2008.
